About Us
Surecraft Marine is based on a passion for boats and design. Stewart and Sarah Graham own and operate the company which they established in 1997. Stewart is a boiler maker by trade and is totally committed to quality craftsmanship throughout the construction on every boat commissioned. Together, the couple have worked endlessly on designing hulls and fit-outs that combine stability, soft riding, fuel economy and a dry ride for each owner.
A final word from Stewart
“For most of my life I have had an interest and fascination with design. One of the things I love about designing boats is the freedom and creativity that owners give me – as well as the trust.
“A boat is often judged on how soft the ride is and claims are often made about particular makes of boats and their stability. But the truth is that every boat can be driven softly or harshly. The real assessment of a boat’s performance should be judged on what speed you can travel to your destination in comfort and safety.
“For example one make of boat may be comfortable and safe travelling at 12 knots in a 15 knot sea but when pushed harder the story changes. Another make may be able to travel in the same conditions at 18 knots but still achieve comfort and safety for its passengers.”
“Most fishermen would appreciate that a plate boat, or any boat for that matter, that bangs hard enough to hurt and behaves erratically when pushed is not acceptable.
“The boats I have designed will come down firm when pushed but passengers are unlikely to experience that uncomfortable jarring that many have come to expect. Surecraft boats won’t heel or broach dangerously when buried bow deep into the back of a wave in a following sea.”
“A quality hull design that is going to perform well is what people should be looking for when in the market for a boat. Surecraft Marine can provide that comfort and safety on the water and I look forward to speaking to prospective clients about their boating dreams.”
